It’s sad but true: we’re living in a time where crowds have become an attractive target for those with malicious intentions. Large-scale events such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Rocking the Daisies draw in thousands and thousands of people over just a few days meaning event organisers and their security teams have the mammoth task of keeping these visitors safe for the duration.

But how do they do this? There are the obvious methods of body scanners and bag checks upon entry to minimise risk. Regular patrols of the area will take place with the aim of preventing any suspicious behaviour. Overall, the process of event security is quite complex and requires extensive coordination and communication.

It’s not just event attendees who need to be scrutinised: how can security teams prevent a person who has an intention to cause harm from infiltrating their services? If a forged staff ID is in the wrong hands, it legitimises a criminal’s presence and ultimately presents a dangerous risk.
